Kieron
Dyer smashed home the winner to end Bolton's 10-game unbeaten run.
Lee Bowyer put Newcastle
ahead when he fed Stephen Carr on the right flank, then sprinted into the
area to power home a header from the resultant cross. Wanderers hit
back through Stelios Giannakopoulos, who ended a fluid passing move with a
well-struck volley. But Dyer had the last word in a game of few chances,
pouncing on a loose ball after Alan Shearer's shot was blocked and firing
into the top corner. |

Patrick Kluivert has
revealed that he intends to make it impossible for Newcastle not to extend
his contract. The Dutchman arrived on Tyneside in a
blaze of publicity in the summer, but his first season at St James' Park
has been one of frustration. Kluivert has shown glimpses of his undoubted
talent, but has been plagued by a number of niggling injuries.

Kieron Dyer has suggested he is ready to sign a new contract at Newcastle.
The midfielder
claims he has been handed a new lease of life by Magpies chief Graeme
Souness and is ready to repay the Scot by signing a new deal. "Signing a
new contract is the least I can do after everything that has gone on,"
said the England international midfielder. Dyer has battled hard to revive
his Newcastle career, having been public enemy |

Newcastle's Laurent Robert insists he is no trouble-maker and is often
misconstrued by the English press.
The French winger has
developed a reputation as something of an outspoken and fiery individual
after some well-publicised outbursts in the media. However, the former
Paris Saint Germain star claims he only ever speaks out to get his
feelings off his chest, and does so in the best interests of Newcastle.
"I'm not a troublemaker," he told the Sunday Telegraph.
"But I am an experienced player, and I want what is best for this club. "I
would certainly never criticise Newcastle. "When I have something to say,
to the manager or anyone else, I do it face to face.

| WHAT THE BOSS SAID WENT ON? |
|
Graeme Souness has accused Craig
Bellamy of creating problems ever since he was appointed as manager of
Newcastle United.
Bellamy is expected to leave St James' Park before the
close of the transfer window, with Birmingham City having a bid of £6
million accepted by Newcastle.
The Wales international is heading for the exit door
following a massive bust-up with Souness, which culminated in Bellamy
branding his boss 'a liar'.
His subsequent refusal to apologise has terminated his
career on Tyneside, with Souness admitting Bellamy's attitude has been
an issue from the moment he took over The Magpies.
Souness also expanded on the incident which brought the
matter to a head when Bellamy was omitted from last Sunday's Premiership
clash at Arsenal.
"Craig Bellamy has been a disruptive influence from the
minute I walked into this football club with his attitude to the
coaching staff, to me and to his team-mates," wrote Souness in his
programme notes for Saturday's FA Cup tie with Coventry City.
"On the Friday before the Arsenal game I met the press at
St James' Park and when I later arrived at the training ground Craig was
taking off his boots in the boot room.
"I asked him 'What's the problem?' and he told me his
hamstring was tight. I asked if he had tugged it and he said no, it was
just tight.
"I then went on to the training ground where Dean
Saunders said to me: 'You will never believe what he's just done?'
"Dean said Craig had told the players prior to coming out
on to the training ground that he was going to feign an injury and that
is exactly what he has done.
"From that moment, I had an almighty problem. When we
finished training, I said in front of the players: 'Craig, you and I
have got to go and see the chairman'.
"By 1pm we were in the chairman's office at the ground.
The first thing the chairman asked was 'Craig, did you feign an injury
this morning?' and Craig said 'yes' to that.
"At that point, I still had a conciliatory note so I
asked what had brought things on and he said it was all the speculation
about bringing new players in and him being used as a makeweight in a
transfer.
"I reassured him that he had not been offered in any deal
and I wanted him here but on my terms - my terms being that he was fully
committed and not being disruptive about the place."
Souness made the decision to leave Bellamy out of the
squad for the game at Highbury after he failed to apologise to his
team-mates for feigning the injury, after being told so by his manager.
Bellamy has also been upset about being deployed on the
flank during Souness' reign but the former Blackburn Rovers manager
insists he has not been trying to convert the striker into a winger.
He added: "It is not a good situation and he has been
disciplined but I believe it is important to point out that at no time
has Craig been asked to play as any type of winger because I feel that
in the modern game there are no wingers - they are wide working players.
"He has been asked (a) to do a job for the cause

The South West Official Toon Army
Supporters Club was founded by John Bartram in August 1999. Through the
hard work and effort done by John and several members the club is now
recognised by Newcastle United and often travel to St James Park to
watch Premiership Football, including the 4-3
victory over the red devils, whilst also having members at the
derby game against
Sunderland. What the Herald
Had to Say:
NEWCASTLE United fans are supporting
their team from as far as Plymouth, as the city is the base of the South
West Official of the Toon Army. The supporters club, formed in 1999 by
John Bartram, has 64 members from as far away as Penzance,
John, and the fellow exiled Magpies
fans (above), made their long march up to the north east for six matches
last year.. They have already visited St James'
Park once this season, to see the 4-3 win over Manchester United, and
they are planning their next expedition for the match against Blackburn
on December 15. Plans are also afoot to include away games this season.
John, who used to work for City-bus, found his old job useful for
meeting and greeting members Toon Army. He said: "I've seen so many
people going around with stickers on their cars and if I'm walking past
I'll put a card in their window." I used to work on the buses after I
retired from the Marines, and I used to stop the bus to give people my
card.
“He added: "There are quite a few
people who come to the games but aren't members." The club is sponsored
by Devonport based Scorpio Computers, and meets regularly at the Black
Prince pub in Laira. Anyone interested should contact John on
